Decorating these Mini Party Cakes is very easy! Using a star-shaped tip, like the Piping Tip #16 from Wilton, we can create the little stars at the top of each Mini Cake.

The color combination is beautiful, and combining multiple shades of yellow with different variations of red will give us excellent results. To get astounding and spectacular results, you can also combine yellow with Lime-green. Combining the Blue, Yellow, and Red icing will look pretty good too!

I have referred to these Mini Cakes as “Mini Party Cakes” because they are very colorful and look full of happiness. Each color combination looks very cute and delicious, and you can enjoy them at any celebration where the goal is to be very happy 🙂

I used a vanilla cake recipe for these Mini Party Cakes, but we can work with any recipe we prefer, whether it is chocolate, mixed, pineapple, lime, orange, among many others. We can use any recipe that we decide!

For the cakes in the picture, I used the Buttercream Icing, but they are also delicious decorating them using the Whipping Cream Icing, but in that case, we will have to keep them in the refrigerator, so they stay fresh.

Vanilla Cake Recipe for Mini Party Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups of cake flour
  • 1/2 cup of butter without salt
  • Two eggs
  • 7/8 cups of sugar
  • 2/3 cups of water
  • Two tablespoons of vanilla extract
  • Two tablespoons of baking powder
  • 1/8 tablespoons of salt

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the molds you’ll need. This time, we will use round molds of around 4 inches each to make the Mini Party Cakes.
  2. Pre-heat the oven at 390 F for approximately 15 minutes before using it.
  3. Prepare the molds smearing vegetable butter inside, then put a sheet of Wax Paper on top of it, and after that, add a bit more vegetable butter. You can also smear flour and spread it all around the container.
  4. Sift the flour.
  5. Add the baking powder and the salt, and mix them, so they integrate correctly.
  6. Put the butter in the mixer bowl, and mix to make it more creamy. Its color will get lighter, and it will look softer and more creamy. Mixing for around 2-4 minutes will be enough.
  7. Add sugar and mix at medium speed until everything is integrated correctly, for approximately 5 minutes.
  8. Add eggs, one by one, letting them integrate with the mix before adding the next one. Mix until they are very well mixed, and you can see a homogeneous mix.
  9. Change the mixer speed to Slow to add the flour bit by bit, with a spoon.
  10. Add the vanilla extract and the water, bit by bit, and slowly, and then mix for a couple more minutes so that everything gets appropriately combined.
  11. Put the mix in the previously prepared molds.
  12. Put it in the oven for around 10 to 12 minutes; the time needed for it to be ready can vary depending on your oven.
You can check if the cake is done by using a toothpick and introducing it into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, then you’ll know the cake is ready.
  13. Let it rest in the mold for at least 3 to 5 minutes. After that, take the cake out of the mold. Remove the wax paper from the base if you used it previously.
After that, move the cake to a cooling grill, or to a container or plate where you’ll have to let it cool completely to start decorating it.

Note: If you don’t have or you don’t want to use individual molds, you can make a flat cake and cut the Mini Party Cakes using a cookie cutter.
